The sad but true fact is that 7-Eleven is opening in the place where Steamers used to be. As if Sai Kung needs another one. We have 2 already plus two Circle Ks. I am horrified by the mentality of the town planners to allow this development (if you can call it that!). Obviously there is no planning - just greed. Has no one taken into consideration what impact this will have on that particular area of Sai Kung. What used to be a pleasant sitting out area will be turned into a faceless, characterless corner shop 100m away from the same corner shop. I suppose I should consider it good news that it's not going to be yet another estate agent or even worse dog clothes shop.
Yours Grumpy of Sai Kung
Darren, you have given me comfort at this difficult time! I notice that the Starbucks logo has appeared next door to the 7-Eleven. Nothing stays the same in Hong Kong it just looks the same.

Get over it! By the way, there are at least 3 7- Elevens in Sai Kung town already, but several places to drink!
A 'new' Steamers is opening round the corner (opposite Poets / Boozer) next month anyway
