A terrible bout of cold, wintry weather is affecting Hong Kong. The temperatures have plummeted to extremely low levels causing the Hong Kong Observatory and the Hong Kong Weather Channel to issue 24 hours warnings about what to do during this cold snap. A COLD WEATHER WARNING has been issued.
The public information being broadcast by various different media is as follows:-
'The Cold Weather Warning is now in force. The Hong Kong
Observatory is forecasting cold weather in Hong Kong during
the overnight period.
As Hong Kong is being continuously affected by a cold winter
monsoon, people are advised to put on warm clothes and to
avoid adverse health effects due to the cold weather. You
must also ensure adequate indoor ventilation.
If you must go out, please avoid prolonged exposure to
wintry winds.
If you know of elderly persons or persons with chronic
medical conditions staying alone, please call or visit them
occasionally to check if they need any assistance.
Make sure heaters are safe before use, and place them away
from any combustibles. Do not light fires indoors as a means
to keep warm.
Whatever the temperature, please ensure that there is plenty
of fresh air in your room when you are using an old-type gas
water heater.'

The fact is that we are experiencing a low of - wait for it - 11C. Hardly extreme!
Its almost as if we are so delicate that even the hint of a chilly breeze will cause us all to fall sick immediately or keel over from exposure to those scary wintry winds. The Hong Kong Government molly coddle its citizens to such an extent that I am expecting a government official, complete with 'Cold Weather Warning special issue uniform' to call round my house, make me a hot water bottle, tuck me in and make sure I have my extra warm damart matching vest and big knickers ready to slip into in the morning. No such luck so far though!
In the meantime the weather in Newcastle in the north east of the UK is, coincidently 11C today. The weather forecast talks of every one enjoying a good fine weather day with a TOP temperature of 11C with a MILD night of 7C. It even showed a photograph of people riding horses on the beach - you know - outside exposed to those pesky elements. Tomorrow will be a pleasant 15C so not too bad at all - to quote Look North.
Worra load of whimps we are in Southern China.
Write your blog is very good! You are willing to share with me your experience it? Very proud to see this article ah

Should you wear a face mask and if you do when do you take it off? For speaking, eating, sneezing or none of the above.
Should you spit and if you do should it be on the floor or in the ash tray on the tops of blue bins?
Should you always wash your hands with soap...I am watching you.

Dear Aunty Lesley,
Oh my lord, there are so many things out there that I should deal with.
Should I hold my child's hand on the escalator?
Should I take my grandparents to the dentist?
Yours,
Confused (aged 40)
